- 1 cupShredded cheddar cheese

- Topping
- ½ cupPowdered non-dairy cream
- ½ cupPacked brown sugar
- ½ cupWhite sugar
- ⅓ cupFlour
- ¼ tspSalt
- 1 tspCinnamon
- ½ tspNutmeg
- ¼ cupButter
- 6 cupsPeeled sliced apples
- 2 tbspLemon juice

Preheat to 450°F.

Mix flour and salt; cut in shortening until crumbly.

Add cheese and ice water; form into ball.

Roll into 15" circle on baking sheet with turned-up edges.

Mix cream, sugars, flour, salt, and spices.

Sprinkle half over crust; cut butter into remaining half.

Arrange overlapping apple slices; sprinkle with lemon juice and remaining mixture.
